Scholarship can total up to $600 for Kent Roosevelt students, thereby decreasing cost to $100 (the deposit) for a Kent student.
Multiple options are available. You can use 1 or multiple options to accumulate scholarship credit
1. First Time Camper. Any Kent Roosevelt student who has not attended a previous summer Young Life camp , you will receive a credit for an amount to bring a first timer's cost down to $400 ($300 plus $100 deposit) before any other scholarship is applied.
2. Bring a friend, who has not attended any previous summer Young Life camp to camp this year with you. The friend will need to go thru the normal camp sign up process. You will be credited for $300 once they pay their non-refundable deposit. You can use this scholarship multiple times by bringing more than 1 friend. Your friend(s) then can take advantage of the scholarship program (including the first time camper scholarship credit). Note: If your friend has already been claimed as brought by somebody else, you can not claim credit for bringing them (i.e. a person can not be 'brought' by multiple people). If your friend has already signed up on their own, you can not claim credit for bringing them.
3. Perform service hours.
Service days will be 3 - 4 hours. You will be credited with $75 - 100 per hour ($300 in camp scholarship for the day, max total $300 even if doing more than 1 service day). At this point only 1 service day is planned, Saturday May 31, 2025 probably starting at 9 am. Details will be provide later to those signed up. Note: If no service dates work for you, we will try to make other arrangements
A Kent student can accumulate scholarship credit thru any or all of the above methods. If more credit is accumulated than needed, the extra scholarship may be given to other students to help them meet their goal. Scholarships can not be applied to the non-refundable deposit, expire this year and can not be carried over to future camps.
